📖 How to Use This Tracker

Interpreting Your Net Worth Tracker

Net Worth
Total assets minus total liabilities — a single number that represents your overall financial position at a point in time. By itself it is just a starting point; the trend over time is what reveals whether your financial plan is working.
Liquid Net Worth
Net worth excluding illiquid assets — real estate and retirement accounts that cannot easily be accessed without a sale or penalty. This is a better measure of funds truly available for emergencies or near-term goals.
Why Track the Trend
A single net worth figure says very little on its own. Saving monthly or quarterly snapshots and reviewing the direction and rate of change is what demonstrates whether saving, debt repayment, and investing strategies are producing results.
Real Estate Value
Use a conservative, realistic market estimate — not your purchase price or an optimistic appraisal. Overstating this figure inflates apparent net worth without reflecting actual liquidity or realisable value.
Browser Storage
Snapshots are saved in this browser only (localStorage). They will not sync across devices and will be lost if browser data is cleared. Export or record key figures separately for permanent client records.
